After a year away, I'm back with season three of the Infuse YOU Podcast, and what a journey it's been! Life threw me some serious curveballs post-hysterectomy, and I had to step back and focus on healing both physically and mentally. With persistent spotting, bladder discomfort, and sleepless nights, it was a year of challenges and revelations. But through research, prayer, and sheer perseverance, I found my new normal. This episode is all about sharing that transformative journey and the stories of resilience that have helped not only me but others in our community.
I'm overjoyed to share that our previous discussions on uterine fibroids and hysterectomy resonated deeply, inspiring two women I know to take control of their health. It's heartening to know that our conversations have sparked such positive change. As I express gratitude for the 507 episode downloads, I reflect on finding my passion for podcasting once again. Join me as I embark on this new season, promising an infusion of inspiration, empowerment, and, as always, a commitment to helping women and young girls fill their cups with love, joy, and knowledge.

Hey, hey, we're back. Hey, hey, hey, we're back. We are back with the Infusion Podcast. Welcome to season three of the Infuse YOU Podcast. My name is Teresa and I am your host. The goal of this podcast is to help women and young girls fill up their cups. Oftentimes, we are so focused on helping and supporting others that we forget to take care of ourselves too. My mission in life is to spread love and joy through movement, motivation, education. It's been a little over a year since the last podcast season and a lot has happened since season two wrapped, so today I'm going to share the highlights of this past year and let you know what we have coming for season three. First, I would like to thank all of my listeners for helping me to achieve 507 episode downloads. I appreciate your support, whether you're listening to an episode personally or you've shared the link to my podcast with someone else. I appreciate you.
Teresa :Last season, we wrapped up with a deep dive into my uterine fibroid journey and my hysterectomy surgery. We had three interviews with three of my friends sharing their hysterectomy journeys, and we received lots of positive feedback about what was shared, so much so that two women that I personally know made the decision to have their hysterectomy to remove uterine fibroids after listening to the stories that we shared. So I'm so grateful that I was able to bring that information to them and share it with them so that they can finally have their fibroids removed as well. So I'm sure you are wondering what's been happening and why it's taken so long for me to kick off this season three. Well, life has been life and it was hard for me to find my passion again for podcasting, so I got to keep it 100. It just wasn't there. If you've been following me, you know that I created this podcast to help others, but over the past year I had to take some time to help me. We can never give from a full, excuse me. We can never give from a half empty cup or an empty cup right. So my cup was not all the way full, so I didn't have enough to give and to pour into this podcast like I have over the past two seasons, so I had to put it on pause.
Teresa :So the hysterectomy as you know as you can imagine if you've been through one it took a lot out of me, not only physical changes in my body, but it took a lot mentally. Took a lot out of me mentally as well. So I experienced spotting for what seemed like six months. There was a constant pressure on my bladder, like I had to go to the bathroom all the time. Even when I didn't drink anything, it felt like I was going to go to the bathroom myself.
Teresa :There was random abdominal spasms that I kept having out of the blue. I could be sitting down, working out, walking anything. They would just pop up and I had to keep going back and forth to the doctor to figure out what the hell was going on. They put me on different medications, told me to do different exercises and stretches and it was totally draining and, as you've heard from the ladies in the previous season about their journeys and what they went through, there's so many things that hysterectomies or surgery in general, especially if it's an abdominal surgery for women. It just takes a lot out of you, right, and it's hard to get back to what was and how your body used to be and the intimacy level that you have with your partner. So there were nights when I couldn't even sleep. I would wake up dripping in sweat because I was so hot and for those of you that know me for many years, I'm never hot, I'm always freezing cold. So that was something new.
Teresa :But I didn't give up. I prayed, I researched what others were experiencing and how they dealt with it going through similar things and there came a point where I finally got some relief and things were getting back to what we call the new normal, because this is not pre-hysterectomy, this is post, and it's a new normal for me and my body. So while I was going through all these things, I never stopped keeping it moving right. So I was still putting a smile on my face, still pushing through, reminding myself that I wasn't going to let this transformation, this change in my life, take my joy. Now did I have some bad days? Absolutely? Were there some times where I wanted to give up Absolutely, but I did not give up. I kept pushing through. So again, as much as I wanted to work on this, just couldn't do it, couldn't carve out the time to even put together ideas or an outline for the podcast. So I just said, when it's time, I will know when it's time. So, because I pride myself in providing content that is meaningful and beneficial to at least one person, I didn't want to rush it, so I just had to wait until it was the time.
Teresa :So over the past year I've returned to teaching group fitness at one of the newest Mountainside Fitness locations here in Avondale Arizona, super excited to be teaching there on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I also got to present at the inaugural Gaines Fitness Fest Phoenix yes, gains Fit Fest Phoenix, I had to get that right. So I'm excited to be presenting at the Gains Fit Mega Fest Phoenix. That's coming next January and I'm sure if I know Candice and her mind is going she is the creator of Gains Fit Retreats that we will have a four-day retreat soon here in Phoenix. So I'm so excited for that.
Teresa :I've also been teaching group fitness for over six years, as I've mentioned before, and a part of me teaching group fitness, or what led me to teach group fitness, was an outdoor community event called Fitness in the District. I know you guys are probably tired of hearing this, but this is a part of my journey so I have to share it. So, as you know, fitness in the district. I know you guys are probably tired of hearing this, but this is a part of my journey, so I have to share it. So, as you know, fitness in the District is now Wellness at Westgate, and this past year I had the opportunity to be one of the lead MCs for Wellness at Westgate. This opportunity was very sentimental to me because it was a full circle moment. It's where I started, it's where I grew into the fitness instructor that you know me to be today. So, man, I'm getting goosebumps just sharing this story, but it was super exciting. Like I said, it was a full circle moment. So that's something that I did this year that was exciting, that was exhilarating, and we are returning in the spring season more to come on that.
Teresa :Another thing that I did that was very exhilarating and exciting this year was I got to perform for the pregame show at the Phoenix Mercury game OMG. So I was introduced to this amazing lady, ms Tracey Walter. She has a movement called the Dance, everybody Movement movement called the Dance, Ery'body Movement, and part of that is bringing dance to communities all across Arizona and to the sports. So being ready for that event was just like any other fitness event practice, you know, with your groups, on your own, get ready to learn the choreo, be prepared with your uniform and ready to go right. But once we got to the tunnel and we walked out onto the arena floor, my adrenaline shot through the roof like never before the lights, the announcer, the people in the stands. I thought that I was living in a dream, but this was real life and, like I said, this experience was like no other and I'm so excited to be doing this again with Tracey and the crew. Three weeks from today, we will be performing for the pregame show for the Phoenix Suns versus the Detroit Pistons, and the choreo is fire. I can't wait to perform it with all of the amazing ladies in our group and guess what you guys will get to learn all about the Dance Ery'body movement, Tracey Walter and her BT Wellness Fitness Company. On a future episode, she's going to be one of our special guests, so you got to stay tuned to find out more about that.
Teresa :Now, as I mentioned in a previous episode, no matter what life throws at you, you have to keep fighting. You have to keep pushing your way through. Now you guys know, if you've been following me and listening, I have a passion and a purpose in life to help people, and that is to positively impact the lives of others. It's just something that I love doing. I enjoy helping people, especially when they genuinely accept the help that is being offered.
Teresa :So about 19 years ago I was working at a healthcare company as a claims processor and I've had interactions with human resources in the past, but more so at this company. I had more interactions and I was really intrigued on what HR did and I'm like I want to do that. How do they keep up with all the employees and have all these answers that we come in with random questions? I just wanted to learn more. That we come in with random questions. I just wanted to learn more. So at the time that I was interested in this, I was currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in business administration and I had just taken the course on human resources. So then that really made me intrigued. I wanted to learn more and how I can get into HR. So they did have an opening at this company. I applied and of course, they told me I didn't have enough experience because I had none no experience in human resources. But I was destined to get into human resources. So I applied for an HR call center job at a financial institution Wells Fargo and I got the position and I was super excited because I was in HR and I was going to learn all the things about HR and how to help people. So I spent 10 years at Wells Fargo in numerous positions in human resources and after 10 years, unfortunately, I was laid off.
Teresa :After many interviews and applications, I tried to get back into HR and it just didn't happen and I had to move on and find another career avenue. You know, because you know you have to work, provide for your family. So I just had to find something else that I was good at, that I could do in the interim. But, like I said, don't give up, don't keep fighting, don't keep pushing for those goals that you're trying to reach. So, as of five weeks ago, I received a promotion at my current company to an HR generalist. So after seven years away from the HR industry, I'm back and I'm super excited to learn and grow in this familiar but new space. So don't give up. Don't give up. Don't give up. I'm going to keep saying that I've come to learn that things don't always happen when we want them to, but they do happen when it's time. It happens when it's exactly time for it to happen for you.
Teresa :So this season I'm excited to bring you more interviews with more special guests to share their life journeys, as well as insights on some important topics. Some guests have been confirmed and some I'm still working on. I'm following up, emailing, checking in to see if they can get on the calendar to come and share their life story with you. Now, some of these people that I'm going to have on are going to be entrepreneurs, working moms, some are going to be retirees. They all have a story to share that will positively impact your life. We never know what someone else is going through, and just sharing our story touches people in a way that you never imagined would touch them. Some people don't like to speak up, they don't like to ask questions, but if they can just hear a story that is similar to theirs and they see that that person got through on the other side, that will help empower them to do the same.
Teresa :So next week our episode will not be released on Sunday like normal. We will have a special episode debut on Wednesday, december the 11th. That is National Stretching Day, and I'm so excited that Christina has agreed to be my special guest. She is a fitness coach and local business owner and she is going to share with us the importance of stretching. She's going to give us some stretching tips and she's going to also introduce us to her company On Purpose Wellness and she's going to share how On Purpose Wellness can help you along your health journey. So I'm excited for what's to come for season three of the Infuse you podcast. Thank you for patiently waiting for this new season. I am so excited. I'm so excited I'm going to keep saying that for what is to come this season. So stay tuned. You have been listening to the Infuse you podcast. I hope that something was said today that will help you along your life journey. Until next time, continue to do you, be you, infuse you and, as always, be blessed.
